Job Description
The Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving group and event sales, with a strong emphasis on corporate meetings, retreats and off-sites. This role is remote-friendly, but will require periodic on-site presence for site tours, key client meetings, and major events. The ideal candidate is results-driven, relationship-oriented, and passionate about hospitality and coastal resort experiences. The Sanderling Resort is a premier luxury resort located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, offering guests an unforgettable coastal experience. With oceanfront accommodations, spa services, fine dining, and event spaces, The Sanderling is the perfect destination for corporate retreats and meetings.
Position and Key Responsibilities:
Achieve the financial objectives of the property in their managed area for market segments actively being worked. Works collaboratively with the sales team to ensure sales efforts are coordinated and not duplicated. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service. Serving as the face of the organization to internal and external partners. Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients. Identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities. Participates in sales calls, phone solicitation/prospecting, and market analyses to acquire new business and/or close on business. Manage incoming inquiries, conduct virtual and in-person site tours, and prepare customized proposals. Executes and supports operational aspects of business booked (i.e. generate proposal, writing contracts, and customer correspondence) Provide excellent customer service consistent with the daily service of the company. Set a positive example for guests. Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute a strategic sales plan. Represent the resort at industry events, both virtually and in-person as required. Maintain accurate records in the CRM (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce, or similar) and produce regular sales reports. Initiate and execute agreements on the company's behalf in alignment with the property's standards. Travel to the resort for scheduled meetings, site inspections, or as business needs dictate (estimated 1-2 times per month). This position is hybrid with periodic on-site presence .Skills/Knowledge Required:
Highly motivated individual who can work independently. Ability to handle confidential information discretely and in the proper manner. Self-starter who possesses excellent presentation skills. Proven track record of successful sales history.Qualification Standards:
A 4-year bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or a related major is preferred. Minimum 2 years of sales experience in a full-service hotel environment. Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the Sales Manager may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel, including but not limited to weekends and holidays.
