Position Summary The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for driving top-line revenue through proactive sales efforts, account management, community involvement, and strategic business development. This position focuses on increasing occupancy, ADR, and overall hotel revenue by securing corporate accounts, group business, negotiated rates, sports teams, government business, SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal) accounts, and other key market segments. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, relationship-focused, organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with hotel leadership and operations teams. Essential ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals. Prospect, solicit, and secure new corporate, government, group, and leisure accounts. Conduct outside sales calls, networking events, client meetings, and hotel site tours. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, sports groups, event planners, and travel partners. Identify and pursue opportunities within key market segments including: Corporate Transient Group Business Government Sports Teams Crew Business SMERF Extended Stay Opportunities Account Management Maintain and grow existing accounts through regular communication and relationship management. Negotiate corporate rates, group contracts, and business agreements. Manage account production and identify opportunities for increased market share. Respond promptly to inquiries, leads, and RFPs. Revenue & Market Strategy Work closely with hotel leadership to optimize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR performance. Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and local demand generators. Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and sales planning. Review pace reports, production reports, and market intelligence to identify opportunities. Community & Brand Representation Represent the hotel at community events, chamber functions, trade shows, networking groups, and industry events. Maintain a visible presence within the local business community. Promote the hotel's services, amenities, and unique value proposition. Operational Collaboration Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of group and corporate business. Communicate guest expectations, room blocks, billing arrangements, and special requests. Ensure a seamless guest experience from booking through departure. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate sales activity records, account notes, and production reports. Track sales goals, lead generation efforts, and account performance. Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports. Manage sales budget and expenses responsibly. Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of hotel sales experience preferred. Proven track record of achieving revenue and sales goals. Strong knowledge of hotel sales processes, market segmentation, and account management. Excellent networking, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and hotel sales software/CRM systems. Experience with Hilton, Marriott, Choice, Wyndham, IHG, or other major hotel brands is preferred. Local market knowledge is preferred but not required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Preferred Qualifications Experience selling select-service or limited-service hotels. Existing relationships within the local business community. Experience with group sales, negotiated corporate accounts, and sports team business. Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
