Sales Director (Future General Manager Track) Base Salary + Commission + On-Site Accommodations Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Director to lead revenue growth, develop key business relationships, and help shape the future of our hotel operations. This position includes on-site accommodations and is designed for an ambitious hospitality professional who aspires to grow into a General Manager role. As Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving occupancy and revenue through corporate accounts, group business, local partnerships, and strategic sales initiatives. In addition to sales leadership, you will work closely with ownership and hotel leadership to gain exposure to all aspects of hotel operations, preparing you for future advancement into hotel general management. ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development Develop and execute sales strategies to increase occupancy, revenue, and market share. Identify, solicit, negotiate, and maintain corporate, government, contractor, group, and leisure accounts. Conduct outside sales calls, networking activities, property tours, and community outreach efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, travel planners, project managers, event organizers, and other key demand generators. Prospect new business opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, referrals, and market research. Track sales activity, account production, and pipeline performance using established sales processes. Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, and local demand generators to identify growth opportunities. Assist with digital marketing initiatives, online reputation management, and promotional campaigns as needed. Leadership & Operational Development Work alongside ownership and hotel leadership to gain hands-on experience in hotel operations, revenue management, staffing, and guest service. Assist with developing and implementing operational procedures that improve efficiency and guest satisfaction. Support front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance teams when necessary to ensure successful hotel operations. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management discussions. Help establish performance standards, accountability measures, and service expectations across departments. Collaborate with ownership on long-term strategic planning and business growth initiatives. Guest & Team Engagement Foster strong guest relationships and ensure exceptional hospitality standards. Assist in resolving guest concerns and service recovery situations when needed. Serve as a positive leader and representative of the hotel within the community. Support employee development, training initiatives, and team culture efforts. Qualifications Previous experience in hotel sales, hospitality sales, business development, or hotel management preferred. Proven ability to generate revenue through relationship building and proactive sales efforts. Strong understanding of hospitality operations, guest service, and revenue generation principles. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and networking skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Experience with corporate accounts, group sales, government business, or contractor lodging programs is highly desirable. Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to track performance and achieve sales goals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel management systems is preferred. Leadership experience and a desire to advance into hotel general management are strongly preferred. Growth Opportunity This position is designed as a future General Manager development role .
