Job Description The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales strategy and operations for all events within the organization. This role will drive revenue growth by securing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and overseeing the event sales process from initial inquiry to successful event execution. The Sales Manager will also collaborate closely with the operations and marketing teams to ensure seamless event execution and high client satisfaction. Job Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy Develop and execute a comprehensive event sales strategy to meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate events, weddings, private functions, and other special events. Establish and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all event sales-related inquiries. Manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to achieve individual and team sales goals.
Client Consultation & Relationship Management:
Consult with clients to understand their event needs and preferences, providing expert guidance on event planning, venue selection, and available services. Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the sales process, ensuring their vision is realized. Negotiate event packages, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring favorable outcomes for both the client and the company. Ensure all client expectations are met or exceeded and handle any issues or concerns promptly to maintain high client satisfaction. Work with guests or clients to customize event packages, ensuring all their needs are met. Ensure that all event logistics, including catering, room setup, and audiovisual needs, are well-organized. Ensure seamless communication between departments to execute successful events. Team Collaboration & Event Execution Work closely with the operations team, event planners, and venue management to ensure smooth and seamless event execution. Coordinate with catering, audiovisual, décor, and other event services teams to deliver high-quality, memorable events. Attend events as needed to oversee key aspects and ensure everything aligns with client expectations.Marketing & Brand Representation:
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, marketing campaigns, and strategies to attract new clients and promote the company's event offerings. Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and attract new clients.Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Track and report on event sales performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management on sales trends, customer feedback, and potential improvements. Monitor sales metrics, ensuring sales goals are being met and making adjustments to strategy as needed.Budget & Financial Oversight:
Prepare and manage event sales budgets, ensuring events are sold within defined pricing structures and margins. Review contracts and proposals to ensure financial terms are favorable and align with the company's revenue goals. Required Skills Highly motivated, results-driven, and passionate about event sales and client satisfaction. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Adaptable, with a positive attitude and a strong customer service orientation. A strong network of contacts in the event, hospitality, or corporate industry is a plus. Education & Experience Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in event sales or a related field, with a strong track record of sales success. Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating a sales team to meet and exceed targets. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients. In-depth knowledge of the event industry, including trends, logistics, and service offerings. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, set goals, and track performance. Proficiency in CRM software and event management tools. A background in hospitality, hotel management, or event planning is preferred.
