Job Description
The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that support the strategic growth of the company. This position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with owners, general contractors, construction managers, architects, engineers, and industry partners within the commercial, healthcare, industrial, and federal construction markets. The Director of Business Development serves as a primary relationship-building representative and works closely with company leadership, estimating, project management, and operations teams to identify profitable project opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships. This position is responsible for opportunity development and client relationship management and is not responsible for estimating, project management, contract administration, or project execution. The business development manager position includes a competitive base salary combined with a performance-based incentive program designed to reward the development and successful acquistion of profitable business opportunities. Primary Responsibilities Business Development Develop and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, developers, and facility representatives. Identify and pursue new project opportunities aligned with strategic goals. Generate and maintain a healthy project opportunity pipeline. Research and track upcoming projects within target markets. Participate in strategic planning initiatives to expand PMI's market presence. Identify opportunities for repeat business with existing clients. Client Relationship Management Serve as a professional representative within the construction industry. Conduct client visits and relationship-building meetings. Attend industry networking events, conferences, trade association meetings, and community functions. Maintain regular communication with key clients and industry partners. Strengthen existing relationships while establishing new business connections. Opportunity Management Track project opportunities from initial lead through award. Maintain CRM and business development databases. Coordinate opportunity pursuit efforts with estimating and operations personnel. Assist in developing project pursuit strategies. Support proposal preparation and qualification package development. Marketing & Industry Presence Assist with development and maintenance of marketing materials. Support capability statement updates and company presentations. Promote services and capabilities within target markets. Internal Coordination Participate in weekly management meetings. Coordinate with estimating regarding bid opportunities. Communicate upcoming workload and opportunity forecasts to leadership. Support strategic planning initiatives and market analysis efforts. Provide regular pipeline reports to company leadership. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum five (5) years of business development, sales, estimating, project management, or construction industry experience. Experience within commercial construction, mechanical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, industrial construction, healthcare construction, or federal construction preferred. Proven ability to establish and maintain professional business relationships. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and CRM software. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical contracting experience. Plumbing or HVAC industry experience. Federal construction market experience. Healthcare construction experience. Existing industry relationships within Texas markets. Proposal development experience. CRM management experience. Primary office location:
San Antonio, Texas. Regular travel within service territory is required. Attendance at industry events, client meetings, and networking functions may be required outside normal business hours. Pay:
$90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year Benefits:
