We have invested heavily in engineering resources, project execution capabilities, supplier relationships, operational systems, and the infrastructure necessary to support significant growth. Our team has successfully delivered complex automation projects and developed the internal capabilities needed to execute at a high level. We are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help accelerate the next phase of our growth. This is not a role where you will be expected to develop concepts, create drawings, perform engineering calculations, or build proposals independently. Our applications engineering and project teams provide the technical expertise required to develop solutions and execute projects successfully. Your primary responsibility will be to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, qualify projects, lead the sales process, and close business. For the right individual, this is an opportunity to become a key contributor within a growing automation company where your efforts will have a direct impact on the future direction and success of the organization. The projects you will pursue typically range from $500,000 to $1.5 million and include robotic automation, material handling, conveying, sortation, packaging systems, palletizing, depalletizing, and custom turnkey automation solutions. Primary Responsibilities Develop and execute strategies for generating new business opportunities. Identify automation opportunities within manufacturing, food processing, packaging, distribution, and consumer goods operations. Build relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, engineering managers, corporate engineering groups, and executive decision-makers. Conduct plant visits, discovery meetings, and customer presentations. Qualify opportunities based on customer needs, budget, timing, return on investment, and technical fit. Collaborate with the applications engineering team to develop winning automation solutions. Present proposals and lead commercial discussions. Negotiate contracts and commercial terms. Manage opportunities through CRM and maintain accurate sales forecasts. Expand relationships within existing customer accounts. Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer facilities. Meet or exceed annual sales and gross profit objectives. Proven ability to develop and close new business opportunities. Experience managing long sales cycles and complex capital equipment projects. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to understand manufacturing operations and identify automation opportunities. Self-motivated and capable of managing a territory with minimal supervision. Willingness to travel approximately 30-50%. Preferred Experience Robotics and automation systems. Experience selling projects exceeding $400,000.
