Area Manager - Home Health & Hospice Full-Time | Provo, Utah Community Nursing Services (CNS) |
Home Health and Hospice Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Position Summary CNS — the second-largest nonprofit Home Health and Hospice company in Utah — is seeking a full-time Area Manager to lead our Provo office. You'll oversee a multidisciplinary team across Home Health and Hospice, drive census growth alongside our sales and marketing partners, and shape the office's culture, performance, and patient experience. Compensation & Benefits Salary:
Starting at $80,000 and up — commensurate with experience, education, and work history
Annual Bonus:
Annual bonus based on personal and company performance targets.
Mileage:
$0.57/mile reimbursement for qualified travel
On-Call:
Participation in the Administrator On-Call (AOC) rotation as needed
Schedule/Hybrid:
The Area Manager is required to be on-site five days a week during the first year. After the first year, there is an option (with manager approval and based on the needs of the business) to move to a hybrid schedule, with four days in the office and one remote day per week.

Lead with clarity and transparency, keeping your team, executive leadership, and referral partners aligned and informed Recognize and celebrate the contributions of every team member, building a culture where people feel valued every day Lead with integrity and treat every patient, family, clinician, and team member with the dignity they deserve Hold yourself and your office to the highest standards of patient care, operational performance, and professional conduct Create an environment where your team has the tools, training, and leadership backing they need to do their best work Drive census growth and build strategic referral relationships in partnership with the Sales & Marketing team Champion clinical excellence and ensure every patient interaction reflects CNS's commitment to dignity and quality care Manage your office's budget, productivity, and resources with the discipline of a true operator Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing multidisciplinary team that's proud to wear the CNS name Drive census growth and patient experience outcomes that move the needle for the Provo office and CNS as a whole Lead with respect and support — building a team culture where clinicians and staff feel valued, heard, and equipped to succeed Manage office finances, productivity, and operations with the stewardship and accountability of a seasoned leader Communicate with clarity and acknowledge contributions across your team, holding everyone (including yourself) to a standard of excellence Translate CNS's mission and strategic priorities into day-to-day decisions that strengthen your office and the patients you serve Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff Champion patient care excellence and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Utah regulatory requirements Partner with the Sales & Marketing team to grow census across Home Health and Hospice service lines Build and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, SNFs, assisted living communities, and other partners across the Provo and greater Utah County market Manage the office budget, productivity metrics, and staffing ratios with discipline and accountability Participate in the Administrator On-Call (AOC) rotation alongside the Clinical Care Coordinator team Serve as the primary point of escalation for staff, patient, and operational matters within the office Translate CNS's strategic priorities — Growth, Patient Experience, Financial Stewardship, and Team Engagement — into office-level execution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; Master's preferred 3-5+ years of progressive leadership experience in home health and/or hospice Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary clinical and non-clinical teams Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, OASIS, Conditions of Participation (CoPs), and applicable Utah regulations Clinical licensure (RN, NP, etc.) is not required but welcomed and considered as part of the overall profile Strong people leader with excellent communication, sound business judgment, and the ability to use data to drive decisions Valid Utah driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation Experience with budgeting, P&L, or office-level financial reporting preferred Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Ability to travel locally between the Provo office, referral partners, and patient homes as needed Comfortable working in a typical office environment as well as occasional field-based settings Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment throughout the workday This job summary outlines the general nature and level of responsibilities and is not an exhaustive list of all duties or skills required.
