Portsmouth, VA Overview East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales (ECTTS) is seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead operations within our Roll-Off Division. This role is ideal for a high-performing leader with experience in heavy truck, waste/refuse, vocational equipment, roll-off hoists, hooklifts, or fleet sales environments. The Sales Manager will oversee inventory strategy, sales operations, customer support, manufacturer relationships, and interdepartmental coordination while supporting a growing sales team in a fast-paced commercial equipment dealership environment. This is a leadership role requiring operational discipline, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance customer satisfaction with inventory and profitability objectives. Responsibilities Manage chassis, roll-off hoist, and hooklift ordering based on customer demand and inventory strategy Oversee inventory pricing, availability, and system accuracy within Karmak Support and develop Sales Representatives through coaching, deal support, and leadership Resolve customer issues and sales-related escalations professionally and efficiently Coordinate closely with Service, Accounting, Finance, Transportation, and Production departments Ensure accuracy of bills of sale, invoices, and related sales documentation Forecast equipment demand and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and OEMs Travel to customer locations, trade shows, manufacturers, and industry events Monitor department performance and assist with resolving operational and system-related issues Help drive sales growth while maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction Qualifications Prior management experience in truck, waste/refuse equipment, roll-off hoists, hooklifts, heavy equipment, vocational fleet, or dealership sales preferred Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and leadership skills Experience managing inventory and coordinating across departments Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with dealership management systems or ERP platforms preferred Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Working Conditions Primarily office-based role with periodic lot and inventory inspections Some outside sales activity as needed Monday-Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends as business demands require Travel required for trade shows, OEM visits, and customer meetings Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health insurance Paid time off Career growth opportunities Industry-leading product lines and manufacturer partnerships Established dealership with a strong reputation in the vocational truck industry About ECTTS East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales has been serving the vocational truck and equipment industry since 1995.
