Job Description
Build the relationships that get people into care. Shift Support Network is an early, growing virtual behavioral-health program (intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization, delivered over telehealth) for adults. We already generated real revenue from a single union health fund with no sales team and no ad spend. Now we are hiring our first dedicated business-development athlete to turn that one proven relationship into a repeatable engine across union benefit funds, self-funded employers, and clinical referral partners. This is a builder's seat. You will own the pipeline, set the playbook with the founder, and have founding equity in what you build. What you'll do Open and own relationships with union health and welfare funds, fund administrators, benefits consultants, and self-funded employers, getting Shift in front of the people who steer members to covered care.
Work the referral pathways:
employee assistance programs, behavioral-health networks, and DOT return-to-duty professionals who need a treatment destination. Build a book of clinical referral partners: detox and residential programs, therapists, hospital EDs, and community organizations that need a step-down or higher level of care. Show up where the decision-makers are: union events, labor-council programming, and benefits conferences like IFEBP (headquartered right here in the Milwaukee metro). Run a disciplined outbound motion (calls, email, LinkedIn), keep the CRM clean, and move accounts through the pipeline to admitted patients. Partner with intake so every relationship you open converts into people actually getting help. Who you are A hustler with a track record. You have carried a quota or a number, you love the chase, and you do not need to be told to pick up the phone. 2+ years in business development, sales, partnerships, community relations, or outreach. Healthcare, behavioral health, addiction treatment, insurance, benefits, or union/labor settings are a big plus. A relationship builder who can earn trust with a union trustee, a benefits administrator, a discharge planner, and a clinician in the same week. Comfortable in the field:
conferences, union halls, and in-person meetings, not just a laptop. Organized and self-directed. You run your own week, log your work, and report your numbers honestly. Mission-driven. You want the deals you close to mean someone got into treatment who otherwise would not have. Bonus points An existing network in unions, Taft-Hartley benefit funds, or employee benefits. Behavioral-health or treatment-center business development or outreach experience. Familiarity with DOT/CDL return-to-duty (SAP) or employee assistance programs. Spanish or other languages. Compensation and benefits $75,000 to $95,000 base, performance bonus, and founding equity (on-target earnings $110,000 to $135,000). Remote, with a strong preference for the Greater Milwaukee area. Travel to key conferences and accounts. Direct line to the founder and real ownership of the playbook. How we work (and pay) We build clean. This is a healthcare role, so you are paid a strong base plus a performance bonus and equity, not a per-referral commission. You are rewarded for building real, durable relationships and for the quality of the care those relationships produce. To apply, send your resume and a few sentences on the single best business-development relationship you have ever built and how you landed it. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Work Location:
