Cashier

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, efficiently handle transactions, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role is essential in ensuring smooth store operations and maintaining customer satisfaction in a fast-paced grocery or retail environment. Duties Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions quickly and efficiently Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or product demos when needed Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and attention to detail Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, including stocking shelves and merchandising products Assist with inventory management, including stocking and restocking items as necessary Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience Supervise or assist less experienced staff when required, demonstrating leadership skills Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math calculations Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and stock management Ability to perform upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers effectively Supervising experience is desirable for leadership roles within the team Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial for understanding store flow and product placement Ability to demonstrate product demos and promote items confidently Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication with customers over the phone This position offers an engaging work environment where your interpersonal skills and retail knowledge will contribute directly to the success of our store.
