Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle cash and operate a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system effectively. The Cashier will also assist with stock management and contribute to a positive shopping experience for customers. Responsibilities Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring accuracy in cash handling. Assist with stock management by restocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining inventory levels. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products or services to customers. Conduct product demos to enhance customer knowledge and encourage sales. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Supervise junior staff members during peak hours to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and cash handling procedures is an advantage.
