Overview We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role is essential in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions. Handle cash and credit transactions with accuracy, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including merchandising displays. Assist in stocking shelves and managing inventory levels as needed. Conduct product demonstrations to inform customers about new items or promotions. Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations. Skills Proficient in using POS systems and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Experience in retail sales, cashiering, and cash handling practices. Ability to perform basic retail math calculations for pricing and discounts. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases. Knowledge of merchandising techniques to effectively display products. Experience in supervising staff or leading teams is advantageous. Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
