Job Description

Pool Associate (Part-Time) Parks & Recreation Department - Aquatics Division Chris Lyle Aquatic Center The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking friendly and customer-focused individuals to serve as Pool Associates at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression by welcoming patrons, assisting with program information, and supporting daily operations.
Schedule:
Varies - includes weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and select holidays (Aquatics Division operates 7 days a week)
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patrons upon arrival to the aquatic center Assist guests with registrations, program information, and general inquiries Recommend programs and services based on patron needs Support front desk operations and maintain a clean, organized environment What We Expect from

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Assist in daily operational tasks, such as opening and closing procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area. Welcome patrons into the facility; screen for and inform patron of prohibited items. Attend to inquiries in person and over the phone; assess needs and recommend programs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on programs and facility rules. Manage cash, check, and credit card transactions on computer-based POS system. Membership and retail sales. Maintain stock and presentation of retail items. Attendance and record keeping of all facility patrons - including but not limited to members, swim teams, swim lessons, program participants, and daily guests. Assist in an emergency as defined in the facility's Emergency Action Plan. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Must be at least 16 years of age. Cash handling experience preferred but not required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Mathematics:
Ability to use basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Language Ability :
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to conduct oneself in professional manner.
Skill Requirement :
Basic knowledge of counting and balancing, cash handling, computer and phone skills.
Reasoning:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
