Cashier

Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. This role is vital in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers and supporting the overall efficiency of our store operations. Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail sales is preferred. Bilingual skills and supervisory experience are a plus, but not required. The position offers opportunities for growth within the retail environment and involves engaging with customers through product demos, upselling, and merchandising activities. Responsibilities Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries Conduct product demos to promote featured items and enhance customer engagement Upsell relevant products to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and inventory management Support store operations by supervising team members when needed and ensuring smooth daily functions Practice effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors Ensure compliance with store policies and procedures at all times Experience Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math is advantageous Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in advancement opportunities Previous experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments will be beneficial Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor during busy periods
