Job Description

The Assistant Cashier will supervise and help train the retail staff and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service while assisting customers of the Bank during both in person and over the phone transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist customers in their selection and opening of various accounts, products and financial services from the Bank. Be aware of customer needs and actively look to cross-sell and increase the number of products and services utilized by current bank customers. Advise customers on promotional items and services. Stay educated on all current deposit, business, and consumer loan products. Supervise and perform teller and new account operation training. Help the Branch Manager in overseeing the proper staffing of the branch to ensure proper coverage at all times. Conduct staff meetings to disseminate operational information and changes, coach and mentor staff to provide excellent customer service skills and compliance to bank policies, etc. Assist Tellers with cash vault transactions and balancing drawers when necessary. Assist customers with safe deposit box entry. Assists with forgeries, frauds, garnishments, levies, and other issues with accounts. Balance the branch cash vault daily and be the backup for balancing cash book at the end of the day as needed. Ensure that the branch ATM is filled weekly. Ensure a high level of quality customer service and confidentiality. Enforce dual control procedures at all times. Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that the office and all personnel adhere to the same. Promote Farmers Bank in public and always represent the Bank positively, courteously, and with the greatest concern for the customers interest. Ensure proper security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the branch. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent mathematical skills. Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred. Two years or more of banking experience including new account opening.
