Overview Join our vibrant gift shop team as a Gift Shop Cashier and become the friendly face that enhances every visitor's experience! In this energetic role, you'll be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently managing transactions. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where guests feel appreciated and inspired to explore our unique merchandise. Whether assisting with product information or handling sales with confidence, you'll play a vital part in making each visitor's visit memorable. Duties Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product demos when appropriate Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and attractive through merchandising and stocking efforts Upsell related products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and participating in stock replenishment Practice excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries from customers or vendors Experience Prior cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments preferred, with a strong understanding of retail math and cash handling procedures Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in guiding team members or managing daily operations Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and provide clear information about products Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising techniques, and basic retail sales principles Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and transaction balancing Experience in customer service roles that require active listening, problem-solving, and maintaining a positive attitude Join us in creating an inviting shopping experience where every visitor leaves delighted!
