Job Description
Communicates with customers and co-workers in a polite and professional manner.
- Greets, engages and thanks customers.
- Monitors customer flow and calls for assistance as needed.
- Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques as well as bags customer orders properly.
- Assists customers with promotional items and items available at the checkstand and product location throughout the store.
- Accurately operates checkstand equipment such as a cash register, electronic payment system, Self-Checkout (SCO), Remote Approval Station (RAP), scanner and scale to process customer orders in strict compliance with Company Policies and Procedures (i.
- Accurately handles monetary transactions including cash, checks, charges, gift cards, travelers' checks, food stamps, WIC vouchers, processing coupons, issuing rain checks and handling refunds.
- Accountable for cash register till contents. Required to keep currency and coupons organized.
- Accurately identifies produce items and enters correct PLU codes.
- Records and reports inaccurate UPC codes and pricing.
- Responsible for keeping checkstand area clean, neat and properly stocked and for ensuring a clean, safe and secure work area.
- May perform duties such as stocking, returning merchandise to the sales floor and rotating merchandise.
- Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
