Job Description

Job Description Lead Cashier/Line Basic Function and Responsibility Responsibilities include calculating, with the use of a register, customer purchases and collect appropriate payment (cash, meal card, credit card). Follows prescribed procedures involving cash handling, use of the register, proper collection, or recording of customer and employee meals. Assists in setting up of food items in service area, stocking supplies, cleaning in service area and dining room as necessary or directed by manager or supervisor. Directs other cashiers or student employees assigned to work station area. Medium to heavy lifting is required. Characteristic Duties
  • Needs to project friendly, helpful attitude toward customers, and be aware of contributing to customer satisfaction.
  • Prior to the beginning of a meal period, assists setting up condiments, juices, bread and rolls, coffee stations, silver and tray stations or other assigned tasks.
  • Checks cash drawer before starting to ensure proper balance. Checks register to be sure it is set and operating properly as well as other supplies necessary for operation.
  • Performs normal cashier duties, ringing in sales and collection appropriate payment.
  • End of meal period, logs out register with the manager on duty, count money and give money drawer and log-out report to the manager/supervisor.
  • When not cashiering, helps set up serving area, restock, clean equipment, dining room tables and chairs.
  • Oversees cashier function during meal time.
  • Trains new cashiers upon hired.
  • Participates in annual PCI training as well as Data Security.
  • Assigns meal breaks to regular cashier employees, in the absence of a manager on duty only.
  • Assists or directs student employees assigned to work area as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervision Received Reports to General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Assistant Manager. Supervision Exercised Assist in monitoring other cashiers or student employees.

$25.78/hr to $28.65/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements Qualifications Education:
High School diploma preferred. Additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
Experience:
Two to three years previous cashiering experience in a large volume food operation. Needs to work effectively in a high volume and fast-paced environment with a diverse staff.
Skills:
Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced operation with a diverse staff. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on an on-going basis.
