Ocean City, MD AND West Ocean City, MD Job description We are a busy, guest-focused restaurant looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Head Server to help lead our front-of-house team. You'll work on the floor most shifts, taking tables while supporting servers, handling guest issues, and keeping service running smoothly. Responsibilities Lead by example as a head server during busy shifts Greet guests, manage the waitlist, and oversee seating flow Support opening and closing procedures, side work, and cash handling Train and coach servers, bussers, and hosts on steps of service and standards Help with section assignments, breaks, and basic shift scheduling Monitor ticket times, table turns, and guest satisfaction throughout the shift Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues on the spot Ensure FOH areas are clean, stocked, and organized at all times Enforce company policies, service standards, and health and safety guidelines Required qualifications (must-have) 2+ years serving experience in a busy, full-service restaurant Strong guest-service mindset and calm under pressure Experience as a lead server, trainer, shift lead, or similar role Comfortable directing and coaching a team during service Basic POS and cash-handling experience, including closing checks and cash-outs Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs Available nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred qualifications (nice-to-have) Experience as an assistant manager or FOH manager Experience in high-volume or seasonal restaurants Knowledge of basic scheduling and labor awareness Schedule Full-time Evenings and weekends required Some holidays required Compensation and benefits Competitive pay (hourly + tips) Manager Meal Opportunities for advancement into full management roles Supportive, team-focused work environment
