Pharmacy Cashier

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Cashier is responsible for running the cash register and providing outstanding customer service to the customers they serve. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Achieve Results Responsible for running a POS register system and making sure that the POS system balances with cash, checks, and credit card transactions at end of day. Provides excellent customer services by assisting customers with their questions and concerns and handling customer complaints. Operational Excellence Ensures all relevant patient information is collected and accurate, current, and completed in a timely manner. Ensure and uphold the confidentially requirements of all patient records, and manage all daily tasks and activities consistent with HIPPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, Relationships Possess a positive relationship within and among the pharmacy staff as well as with other departments within the organization. Develop and maintain positive external relationships with vendors, contractors, and related resources. Leadership & Stewardship Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times. Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.

PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES

• Use a POS system to ring customer's purchases.
• Handle returns and exchanges of retail items.
• Assist with bagging prescriptions.
• Ensure prescriptions given to patient are correct with respect to patient using name along with address to confirm.
• Assist with answering phones, stocking retail items, keeping pharmacy neat and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

Function in a multi-tasking, multiple priorities environment, while maintaining accuracy. Communicate with a diverse customer population.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
• Previous cash register/sales experience.

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
