Duties Operate POS systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while maintaining speed and efficiency. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Manage cash handling duties with attention to detail, including cash register balancing and transaction accuracy. Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales. Conduct product demos when appropriate, showcasing features to engage customers and boost sales. Assist in merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is inviting and well-maintained. Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers over the phone. Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and participating in periodic stock counts. Experience Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math to handle transactions confidently. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse customers and team members. Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities or training new staff. Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales calculations. Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve our diverse customer base better. Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and upselling techniques will help you excel in this role.
