Team Member - Service/Cashier Brome Modern Eatery Sterling Heights Sterling Heights, MI Job Details Part-time | Full-time $14 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid sick time Qualifications Serving Occupational safety regulation compliance Teamwork Customer returns handling Safety regulations Basic math Processing cash transactions Bussing Customer inquiry handling Stocking Guest services Full Job Description Service Team Member Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service Greet customers warmly and assist with menu selections Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary accommodations Provide recommendations and upsell items to enhance the customer experience Taking care of customer needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during, and after the customer's requirements are met Must have complete menu knowledge, how things are prepared, what they taste like, nutritional facts and if special requests are allowed Restocking any condiments, silverware, napkin dispensers, lids, straws, etc. Delivering the food to the proper tables or properly packaging items for delivery/to-go customers Responsible for making all milkshakes, smoothies and acai bowl Make sure that all your food comes out at the same time and in a reasonable manner Maintain a clean and happy environment Transaction Management Accurately take customer orders via point-of-sale (POS) systems Process payments, including cash, credit, debit, and gift cards Issue receipts, refunds, or change as needed Order Coordination Ensure accurate communication of orders to the kitchen team Monitor order progress and inform customers of wait times if necessary Distribute completed orders and ensure customer satisfaction Cleanliness and Organization Maintain a clean and organized front counter, dining area, and drink station Restock supplies such as napkins, straws, and condiments as needed Team Collaboration Assist other team members during busy periods, including packing orders or clearing tables Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow Team Member - Service Requirements and Qualifications Previous experience in a customer-facing role preferred but not required (training available) Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Basic math skills and comfort handling transactions Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Follow company policies and procedures, including cash-handling protocols Adhere to all health and safety regulations
