Job Description
Job Summary The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and accurate customer service while handling all front counter transactions. This role focuses on taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring customers receive a smooth and efficient dining experience in a busy restaurant environment. You will be the first point of contact for guests, helping with orders, payments, and overall front counter service. Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service Greet customers warmly and professionally Take food and beverage orders accurately Assist customers with menu choices and promotions Handle basic customer questions and concerns politely Cashier & POS Operations Enter orders into POS system correctly Process cash, credit/debit, and mobile payments Issue receipts, refunds, and order corrections when needed Apply discounts, combo meals, and promotions accurately Maintain accurate cash drawer balance throughout shifts Order Coordination Communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff Ensure timely preparation and correct order fulfillment Verify orders before handing them to customers Store Support Duties Keep front counter and dining area clean and organized Restock cups, napkins, sauces, straws, and packaging supplies Follow food safety and hygiene standards Assist with opening and closing duties when required Team Collaboration Work closely with kitchen staff and shift supervisors Support team members during busy rush hours Help maintain smooth restaurant operations Skills & Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Basic math and cash-handling ability Team-oriented and reliable attitude POS experience is a plus but not required Work Environment Busy fast-food restaurant counter High customer interaction and fast order flow Standing for long periods Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays Performance Expectations Fast and accurate order processing Friendly and professional customer service Proper cash handling and transaction accuracy Clean and organized front counter Strong teamwork during peak service hours
