Job Description
Provides cashiering services related to continuing education (CE) and curriculum (CU) students and classes. Assists with registration, grading, and course setup of CE classes.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives supervision from the College Registrar. Exercises no supervision. Accepts and processes payments by students for CE and CU classes, generates receipts, and maintains accurate transaction records. Answers incoming phone calls, provides accurate information, directs callers to appropriate departments, and resolves questions related to student accounts and payments. Assists with the registration of students for CE classes; grades and closes out CE classes. Completes duties in compliance with NCCCS regulations related to CE processes; assists with internal processes developed to ensure and monitor the College's compliance in this area. Provides prospective and current students with information regarding available continuing education programs of study, including requirements for admission and completion of programs; provides general information about college courses, prerequisites, and transcript needs; maintains specialized knowledge of continuing education offerings and procedures. Prepares and maintains a variety of reports, records, and logs beneficial to tracking the enrollment goals of the College; enters accurate student information into a variety the College databases and supporting systems; accurately collates and files information related to classes taught at the College. Provides excellent customer service to students and employees. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
An Associate degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university is required. Degrees in finance, accounting, business, education, student development, or a related field are preferred.
Experience:
At least two years of responsible student interaction in cashiering, banking, admissions, registration, or academic advising is preferred. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and/or customer relationship management (CRM) software is preferred. Candidates should display effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of:
Community college mission, policies, and procedures. Community college student services including admissions, advising, and recruiting. Curriculum and continuing education program of study requirements/standards. Basic data analysis, statistics, and reporting skills. Database fundamentals and certain computer application (spreadsheet, word processing) fundamentals. Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Strategies and techniques for establishing accountability.

Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques. Effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve periodically working irregular hours. Environmental Conditions:
The majority of work is conducted in an office environment. The position may periodically require work at irregular hours, including nights and weekends. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, and/or extensive reading.
Physical Conditions:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
