Approximately June 15, 2026 Position Summary The Cashier serves as the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while processing transactions and assisting with sales. This role will engage with customers and ensure a smooth checkout experience, which will be key to our store's success. When business is slow, the cashier may help with general cleaning, such as sweeping, dusting, organizing merchandise, cleaning fitting rooms, and learn to price and stock merchandise. Key Responsibilities Front of House Operations Operates cash registers and handles cash transactions accurately Process sales efficiently using Point of Sale (POS) systems Assist customers with understanding products and merchandise selections Maintain an organized, well-stocked sales floor, ensuring products are displayed attractively Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service. Work collaboratively with leadership, employees, and volunteers with minimal supervision to ensure store operations are running smoothly Coordinate processes with volunteers Qualifications Previous retail or customer service experience preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with staff, customers, and donors Strong cash handling skills with experience in operating cash registers Comfortable using computers, tablets, and digital payment systems, or willing to learn Commitment to and understanding of REACH's mission and values Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift 25-40 pounds Ability to bend, reach, push carts, organize merchandise, etc. REACH of Haywood County is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values a diverse and inclusive workplace.
