This dynamic position combines friendly customer service, efficient cashiering, and proactive merchandising and stocking to keep our thrift shop running seamlessly. Your energy and attention to detail will help us serve our community with quality products and exceptional service, making each visit a positive experience for every guest. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales transactions, returns, and donations Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity Accepting donations Sorting donations and pricing as needed Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are properly displayed to maximize visual appeal Maintain a clean, organized store environment to include cleaning sales floor/backroom areas, trash removal and sweeping/mopping as needed Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely Qualifications Previous retail sales or cashiering experience, preferably in a grocery store or thrift shop setting Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers positively and clearly Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse community members effectively Basic math skills for handling transactions, balancing registers, and performing retail math calculations Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and upselling techniques Supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team members during busy periods Knowledge of resale merchandising, stocking procedures is preferred Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette Join us in creating a lively shopping environment where community connections thrive!
