Job Description

A Cage Cashier is responsible for accurately handling and processing a wide range of monetary transactions for casino guests from an assigned window bank while maintaining strict compliance with company policies, safety standards, and gaming regulations set by the Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board. Key responsibilities include cashing various types of checks (e.g., personal, travelers, cash advances), redeeming chips, tokens, TITO vouchers, and limited foreign currency, as well as correctly processing jackpots. The role requires maintaining an accurate cash drawer at all times, completing and documenting required financial reports such as Multiple Transaction Logs (MTL), Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and Negotiable Instrument Logs (NIL), and ensuring proper currency rotation and tracking. Cage Cashiers must also operate specialized equipment such as currency sorters and counting machines, document all transactions involving company assets, and resolve any variances at the end of shifts with proper reporting and explanation. Beyond technical responsibilities, the role emphasizes exceptional customer service and teamwork. Cage Cashiers are expected to build strong guest relationships through professional communication, personalized interactions, and a friendly, welcoming demeanor. They must collaborate effectively with team members, maintain a positive and respectful attitude, and be open to coaching and continuous improvement. The position requires strong mathematical, organizational, and multitasking skills, along with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced indoor environment that may include exposure to noise, smoke, and varying temperatures. Candidates typically need a high school diploma or equivalent and preferred cashiering experience. Additional requirements include obtaining and maintaining a gaming license, complying with Title 31 (Bank Secrecy Act) regulations, passing pre-employment screenings, and meeting physical demands such as standing for extended periods and handling light to moderate lifting.
