Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic retail team as a Cashier, where your energy and enthusiasm will create a welcoming shopping experience for every customer. In this vital role, you will handle transactions efficiently, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to the overall success of our store. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help ensure smooth operations and satisfied shoppers every day. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions accurately and swiftly Manage cash handling procedures, including cash register operations, balancing tills, and reconciling sales at shift end Provide product demos when appropriate to enhance customer understanding and encourage sales through upselling techniques Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented and accessible Assist customers with inquiries via phone etiquette, offering helpful information about products, store policies, or promotions Support retail sales efforts by promoting featured items and suggesting complementary products to increase sales opportunities Supervise or assist in supervising team members during busy periods to ensure efficient checkout processes and excellent customer service Requirements Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings if applicable Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor and good phone etiquette Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos is desirable for supporting store presentation efforts Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings as needed Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering outstanding shopping experiences.
