Position Summary:
The Cage Cashier Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of the cage operations, including the management of cashiering functions, transaction accuracy, compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering exceptional guest service. This role ensures that all monetary transactions are handled securely and efficiently, and that all cage team members are trained, motivated, and aligned with company policies and gaming regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management Supervise and schedule a team of cage cashiers, supervisors, and support staff to ensure proper coverage and smooth operations. Train, coach, and mentor team members to ensure excellent guest service, accuracy in transactions, and adherence to policies. Conduct regular performance evaluations and administer corrective actions when necessary. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that promotes accountability, communication, and excellence. Operations Management Oversee all cage functions including main bank, front window, chip bank, jackpot payouts, credit and marker issuance, and check cashing. Ensure accuracy in all financial transactions including cash, chips, vouchers, TITO tickets, and player rewards. Always monitor and maintain appropriate levels of cash and other instruments in the cage. Perform audits of cashier drawers and vault balances; reconcile discrepancies in a timely manner. Compliance & Controls Ensure all operations follow internal controls, company policies, gaming regulations, Title 31/AML requirements, and other applicable laws. Prepare and review reports, logs, and documentation required for audits and regulatory compliance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state gaming regulations and ensure staff are properly trained and certified. Customer Service Handles escalate guest issues professionally and efficiently while maintaining compliance and integrity. Ensure that cage staff consistently deliver friendly, courteous, and accurate service to internal and external guests. Reporting & Communication Create and distribute daily shift reports, variance logs, and financial summaries for upper management. Communicate effectively with other departments including Surveillance, Security, Finance, and Compliance. Assist in budget planning, labor forecasting, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a cage cashier role, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management position Strong understanding of casino cage operations, Title 31 regulations, and cash handling procedures Experience managing large volumes of cash and sensitive financial instruments Ability to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and cage management systems
Preferred:
Associate or bachelor's degree in finance, Business, or a related field Prior experience with casino management systems (e.g., Aristocrat, IGT, Agilisys, Konami, etc.) Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) procedures and suspicious activity reporting (SAR)
