Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Gas Station Attendant and Cashier, where you'll be the friendly face greeting customers, managing transactions, and ensuring a smooth, efficient fueling experience. This role combines customer service excellence with retail and merchandising skills to create a welcoming environment. You'll handle cash and card payments, assist customers with product inquiries, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the station. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service at the pump and cashier station Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, including fuel, snacks, beverages, and convenience items Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling procedures Assist customers with product demos, upselling items such as car accessories or snacks to enhance their experience Maintain cleanliness of the station area, including fueling stations, store shelves, and checkout counters Restock shelves, merchandise displays, and ensure products are well-organized for easy customer access Provide information about promotions or loyalty programs; promote additional sales through effective upselling techniques Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone Conduct basic merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing products for visual appeal Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of low supplies Experience Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; experience in grocery stores or convenience stores is a plus Supervising experience is advantageous for team collaboration and leadership opportunities Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively Strong communication skills to engage with customers confidently and professionally Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly for transactions and inventory counts Customer service experience demonstrating patience, attentiveness, and problem-solving abilities. Store Operations Restock shelves, coolers, and displays Check inventory levels and report shortages Keep the store clean (floors, counters, restrooms, outside areas) Ensure coffee stations and food areas are stocked and sanitary Monitor fuel pump activity and report issues Customer Service Answer questions about products, prices, and promotions Handle customer complaints calmly and professionally Verify ID for age-restricted purchases (alcohol, tobacco, lottery) Safety & Compliance Follow safety procedures (especially for fuel handling) Prevent theft by staying alert and reporting suspicious activity Comply with company policies and local laws Skills & Qualifications Basic math and cash-handling skills Good communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Reliability and attention to detail High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required) Work Environment Standing for long periods Working evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts Handling busy periods and occasional difficult customers Optional Add-Ons Preparing hot food or drinks Managing lottery ticket sales Light bookkeeping or shift reports Join us in creating a positive shopping environment where customer satisfaction is our top priority!
