Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier/Clerk to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently managing transactions at the cash register. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this will enhance our customer service experience. Responsibilities Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using POS systems. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries. Process sales, returns, and exchanges while ensuring compliance with store policies. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to enhance the shopping experience. Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise as needed. Utilize retail math skills to manage cash handling and ensure accurate change is given. Communicate effectively with customers and team members, demonstrating strong phone etiquette when necessary. Supervise junior staff or assist in training new employees when required. Promote sales of products and services, utilizing effective selling techniques. Experience Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred, particularly in grocery stores or similar settings. Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is essential for this role. Strong retail sales skills are a plus, along with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to better serve our diverse clientele. Experience in supervising or mentoring staff is an advantage but not mandatory.
