Job Description

Made in TN is a locally owned retail gift shop featuring thoughtfully curated products from Tennessee makers, artists, and small businesses. We exist to make supporting local easy and enjoyable while helping customers find gifts, souvenirs, and locally made goods they love. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and polished Retail Sales Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, takes pride in keeping a store looking its best, and can work confidently and independently. Position Summary As a Retail Sales Associate, you will help create a welcoming and helpful in-store experience for both locals and visitors. You will assist customers with purchases, answer product questions, operate the register, restock inventory, and help maintain a clean, organized, and beautifully presented store. We are looking for someone who is: Warm and professional with customers Reliable and punctual Comfortable working independently Helpful, proactive, and detail-oriented Excited about local products and gifting Able to learn new technology with ease Great communicator Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service Help customers find gifts and answer product questions Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently Restock merchandise and maintain a neat, fully stocked sales floor Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing Assist with merchandising and visual presentation Work independently during solo shifts Support opening and/or closing procedures Qualifications Previous retail, hospitality, boutique, or customer service experience preferred Friendly, professional, and presentable Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable attendance and punctuality are a must Comfortable using technology and learning our POS system Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move merchandise as needed Reliable transportation required What Success Looks Like in This Role Customers feel seen, welcomed, helped, and appreciated The store remains clean and organized You show up on time and follow through on responsibilities You take initiative and help create a positive shopping experience Schedule Part-time hours based on your availability and desired hours from 16 hours to 32 hours a week Schedules may vary by location/store hours Compensation & Benefits $16.00/hour starting pay; higher rate consideration for experience or full time availability Employee store discount Flexible scheduling Opportunities for growth within a growing local business Why Work With Us At Made in TN, we care deeply about supporting local makers, serving our customers well, and creating a positive work environment for our team.
