Overview Join our dynamic retail team as a Stocker / Cashier, where you will play a vital role in creating an engaging shopping experience for our customers. This energetic position combines the fast-paced responsibilities of stocking shelves and maintaining product displays with the friendly, customer-focused duties of cashiering. You'll be the friendly face that helps customers find what they need, offers product recommendations, and ensures the sales process runs smoothly. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service through clear communication and attentive assistance. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card payments. Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and storage areas with products, ensuring items are organized, labeled correctly, and replenished promptly. Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers, enhancing their shopping experience. Assist with merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively to maximize sales potential and maintain visual standards. Upsell additional products or services by identifying customer needs and recommending relevant items to increase sales. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, stockroom, and checkout area to promote a safe shopping environment. Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about store hours, product availability, or assistance as needed. Support inventory management through stocking activities, inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies or low stock levels. Engage in basic retail math for cash register operations, balancing cash drawers at shift end and reconciling sales data accurately. Demonstrate excellent communication skills by effectively interacting with team members and customers to foster a positive shopping atmosphere. Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills are highly desirable. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist diverse customer needs effectively. Strong communication skills coupled with good phone etiquette will help you excel in this role. Experience in grocery stores or retail environments involving merchandising or stocking is advantageous. Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in growth opportunities within the team. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks associated with stocking duties.
