This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, handling transactions accurately, and contributing to a positive shopping experience in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing customer purchases, handling payments, providing excellent customer service, and supporting daily store operations. You will play a key role in ensuring every customer leaves with a positive impression of the store. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Transaction Processing Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, professional shopping experience. Accurately process cash, credit card, debit card, and digital payment transactions. Scan merchandise, apply discounts, promotions, and coupons when applicable. Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and store credits according to company policies. Answer basic customer questions regarding products, pricing, and store policies. Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues to supervisors when necessary. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area at all times. Cash Handling & Register Operations Operate cash registers, POS systems, and related equipment efficiently. Count cash drawers before and after shifts to ensure accuracy. Maintain accurate records of transactions and reconcile cash balances. Follow company procedures for handling cash, checks, gift cards, and other payment methods. Report discrepancies, equipment issues, or suspicious activities to management promptly. Store Operations & Support Assist with stocking shelves, replenishing merchandise, and organizing displays as needed. Help maintain store cleanliness and presentation standards. Monitor checkout supplies such as bags, receipt paper, and promotional materials. Support inventory counts and merchandise organization when required. Assist customers with locating products throughout the store. Team Collaboration Work closely with fellow cashiers, sales associates, and store management. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and performance coaching. Follow company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Contribute to a positive, customer-focused, and team-oriented work environment. What We're Looking For Strong customer service and communication skills. Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor. Attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions. Basic math and cash-handling abilities. Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous experience as a cashier, retail associate, customer service representative, or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
