Cashier

Are you friendly, energetic, and love helping people? Speedy Express #38 in Mathis is looking for reliable Cashiers to be the face of our store! As a Cashier, you are the most important part of our team because you are the final point of contact for our local regulars and travelers passing through. Your main goal will be to provide fast, friendly service, keep the checkout lines moving, and maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service:

Greet every customer with a smile and thank them for their business. Provide quick, accurate, and polite service. Point of Sale (POS)

Operation:

Ring up fuel, convenience items, and deli purchases accurately. Process cash, credit/debit card, and fleet card transactions.

Age-Restricted Sales:

Strictly follow state and federal laws regarding the sale of tobacco, lottery, and alcohol by checking IDs every time.

Store Upkeep:

Keep the checkout area, coffee station, fountain drink dispensers, and front shelves clean, stocked, and organized. Assist with fronting and stocking merchandise on the floor.

Cash Accountability:

Maintain an accurate cash drawer and ensure your shifts balance out correctly at the end of the day.

Job Requirements Experience:

No prior experience required! We will fully train anyone with a great attitude and a willingness to learn. (Previous retail or cash-handling experience is a plus).

Skills:

Basic math skills for handling money, good communication, and dependability.

Flexibility:

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to support the team.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand for the duration of your shift and lift up to 20-30 lbs occasionally when stocking shelves.

From $13.00 per hour
