Responsibilities Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations. Handle cash transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times. Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean sales floor. Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits to customers. Upsell additional products or services to enhance the customer's shopping experience and increase sales. Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Support supervising staff during busy periods and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Ensure compliance with store policies and safety procedures at all times. Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs better. Previous supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities. Knowledge of grocery store operations, retail math, and merchandising techniques. Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash register operations. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Familiarity with upselling strategies and product demos to boost sales. Effective phone etiquette for professional communication in retail settings.
