Scrap Yard Cashier / Scale House Operator

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Scrap Yard Cashier / Scale House Operator to join our team in Fishersville, VA. Responsibilities Greet customers and assist them with the scrap drop-off process. Operate the scale to weigh incoming and outgoing materials accurately. Process transactions and handle cash, credit, and debit payments. Maintain accurate records of transactions and inventory. Provide information to customers regarding pricing and services offered. Ensure the scale house and surrounding areas are clean and organized. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role preferred. Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Proficient in using computers and basic software applications. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
