Cashier

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at our Gas Station. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and will be responsible for handling transactions, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns. Handle cash transactions with precision, ensuring accurate cash handling and balancing of the register at the end of shifts. Assist in merchandising efforts by promoting products through effective upselling techniques. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and readily available. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries over the phone. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Must be willing to obtain an Operating License from the town of Sharon Previous cashiering experience in a convenience store or retail environment is preferred. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
