Community Organizer Tallahassee City Commission, Seat 3 Campaign Paid Position • Stipend • Through August 18, 2026 Primary Reports to Campaign Manager The Job We're hiring a Community Organizer to knock doors, recruit volunteers, build relationships, and help win a seven-way race for Tallahassee City Commission Seat 3. This is a campaign. The work is fast and scrappy. You'll be part of a small team that's building something real in our city. We're running on lower utility bills, real affordable housing, government accountability, and a city commission that works for working people. If that sounds like your fight, keep reading. What You'll Actually Do Voter Contact Knock doors in targeted precincts across Tallahassee. This is the core of the job. Make phone calls to identified voters using VoteBuilder. Have real conversations with voters about the issues that affect their daily lives — utility costs, housing, childcare, affordability. Log every contact accurately in VoteBuilder. Volunteer Recruitment & Management Recruit volunteers from your canvassing, events, and personal networks. Train new volunteers on scripts, turf cutting, and door-knocking best practices. Lead volunteer canvass launches and phone banks. Follow up with every volunteer after their first shift. Events & Community Outreach Help plan and staff community events, house parties, and meet-and-greets. Represent the campaign at neighborhood association meetings, local events, and community gatherings. Build relationships with local leaders, organizers, and community groups who share our values. Campaign Operations Contribute to the campaign's social media presence when you're in the field — photos, short videos. Help maintain volunteer schedules and event logistics through Mobilize. Attend weekly staff meetings and report on field metrics: doors knocked, contacts made, volunteers recruited. Who You Are You're comfortable talking to strangers and don't take rejection personally. You care about Tallahassee. You live here, or you know this city well enough to talk about it like you do. You can work independently. Nobody's going to stand over your shoulder while you're in the field. You're organized enough to manage a canvass turf, track your own numbers, and show up on time. You have reliable transportation. This is a field job — you'll be moving around the city. You can work during the day, early evenings, and/or weekends. Nice to Have (Not Required) Previous campaign or organizing experience. Familiarity with VoteBuilder/VAN, Discord, Google Drive/Google Sheets, Canva, etc. Existing relationships in Tallahassee neighborhoods, civic groups, or faith communities. Details Compensation:

Paid stipend or hourly, depending on your availability.

Duration:

Now through August 18, 2026 primary election.

Location:

Tallahassee, FL. In-person. Field-based. The office is at 117 S. Gadsden Street.

Schedule:

Expect 15-40 hours/week depending on the phase of the campaign. Heavier as we get closer to Election Day.

$1,000.00 - $2,000.00 per month
