Job Description

FIELD LEAD
Democrats for the Illinois House, the official political arm of the Illinois House Democratic Caucus, is seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to serve as field organizers for Democratic state legislative campaigns. Under the direction of the Campaign Lead Organizer and the Regional Field Director, a Field Lead executes the field plan for the election or re-election of Democratic house legislative candidates. Duties include but are not limited to: Conducting daily direct voter outreach with candidate and volunteers. Recruiting and managing volunteers including training one-on-one and in groups. Conducting door-to-door canvasses and phone banks at the direction of the Campaign Lead Organizer and Regional Field Director. Outreach to constituency groups and key elected and party officials. Overseeing the inputting of data from candidate and volunteer voter contact. Ensuring follow up with supporters and undecided voters, including follow-up letters, delivery of yard signs and absentee ballot requests. Preparing for election day and GOTV activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with at least one year work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working for or volunteering on political campaigns. Enthusiasm for Democratic politics. Demonstrated ability to train and instruct volunteers and the general public. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple priority projects and meet established timelines. Willingness to work nights and weekends.
Additional skills desired:
Experience with Voter Access Network, Excel and social media. Understanding of state policy issues. Fluency in Spanish, Polish or other second language a plus but not required.
