Canvass Lead Position Announcement Supervisor:

$32/hour; completion bonus commensurate with the date of hire and number of hours worked; cell phone stipend, travel reimbursement, accrued personal leave days About Wild Montana Action Fund Wild Montana Action Fund was established in 2019 with the goal of building the political power necessary for protecting and conserving public lands and wild places across the state by elevating the voices of Montanans who cherish our outdoor way of life.
Summary of Position:
This position will lead our team of canvassers to conduct outreach to voters in order to advance public land conservation by electing public land champions to public office and supporting issues that impact public land conservation, including electoral reform. The canvass lead will assist in the development and implementation of a voter engagement plan to encourage Montanans to vote in support of public lands in the general election. The primary activity of this position will be to lead door-to-door canvassing in and around Bozeman with a canvassing team. Additionally, this position will support Wild Montana Action Fund's civic engagement and get-out-the-vote (GOTV) efforts through phone calls and texting, and in-person contact with voters. This is a temporary full-time position employed by Wild Montana Action Fund.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Canvass door-to-door to talk to Montana voters about pro-public lands candidates running for elected office and other public lands conservation issues, including pro-democracy reform. Coordinate all aspects of voter engagement organizing in southwestern Montana, including, signature gathering for ballot initiatives, educating young people about public lands issues; conducting GOTV activities such as phone banks, text banks, and door-to-door and event canvassing; and assisting in collecting pledge-to-vote postcards. Perform regular data entry and data quality control. Assist staff by informing election-related content and implementing communication strategies. Lead turf cutting, list sharing, and daily team management. Lead on canvasser training. Assist with canvasser recruitment, as needed. Assist with canvass travel planning and management while in travel status.
Qualifications/Abilities:
A commitment to the mission and vision of Wild Montana Action Fund One to two years of previous organizing experience One year of previous management experience preferred Ability to productively work with a variety of groups, individuals, and personalities Basic computer proficiency is required Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work outside in potentially inclement weather Ability to work evenings and weekends Ability to travel outside of Bozeman for overnight travel Valid United States driver's license and ability to be insured are required
