The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN) was founded in 1994 by Nevada activists to build a more fair and just Nevada. PLAN's mission is to build a more fair and just Nevada that puts people and planet first. We organize with frontline communities and directly impacted leaders to advocate for policies and community investments that improve people's lives. NV JOB SUMMARY
Canvassing & phone banking is a key and essential part of winning the 2026 elections. Conversations made directly with voters about community issues and aligned candidates is how we make an essential impact in advocating for a more progressive Nevada. The 2026 PLAN Action Canvassers will be a part of a team working to build a Nevada where all people have the ability to thrive. This position is approximately 70% outdoors, requires extensive walking during the day, and will require a smartphone to perform job duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in political education and voter contact training; Door-to-door canvass with targeted voters in late afternoon-early evening; Have multiple conversations about community issues and political candidates per shift; Utilize voter database tools to track conversation outcomes; Debrief outcomes and strategy on voter contact at the end of each shift.

Canvassing 70%, Phone banking 30%
QUALIFICATIONS
A strong commitment to social, racial, and economic justice and progressive political change. At least one year of experience working or deeply volunteering in electoral or issue-based campaigns. Ability to work in and across diverse communities particularly race, class, gender, and geography. Excitement for electing progressive candidates up and down the ballot. Excellent listening and communication skills. Empathetic and motivational. Capacity to listen without judgment. Ability to self navigate Nevada communities and neighborhoods. Ability to walk and have conversations over a 6-8 hour daily shift (with breaks). Written and verbal fluency in Spanish or other languages is a plus. Proficiency with MiniVAN preferred. Working smartphone with the ability to use the app MiniVAN on a 5G, 4G, or LTE network is a must.
Term of Employment:
This is a full-time position until November 15, 2026. Remote work is possible but this role does require a majority of in-person community engagement and fieldwork.
