Job Description

Who We Are Underdog Strategies was founded in 2018 by community organizers with a mission to transform political and educational sectors. Our team successfully leads clients to victories through large-scale mobilizations, community outreach, grassroots organizing, state and local lobbying, and public actions. We are proud to support programs advocating for funding and resources for NYC public schools, first-time candidates, campaign staff, and grassroots leaders. We are excited to expand our canvassing to Nashville! The Opportunity We are seeking outgoing, strategic communicators for Canvasser and Field Manager roles in Nashville, Tennessee . This is a W-2 part-time position with an initial 1-month starting contract tied to our partnership with Republic Charter Schools, with the possibility of extension further into the school year. Your mission is to speak with parents and community leaders to drive awareness and enrollment for public schools. You will focus on assigned on-site zones for 5 hours per day, 3 to 4 days per week (15-20 hours/week).
Available Roles & Compensation Canvassers :
$25.00 per hour + transportation stipend.
Field Managers :
$30.00 per hour + transportation stipend.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Identify ideal locations to engage with parents (parks, supermarkets, churches, schools, door knocking, etc) Become an expert on your assigned zone, keeping a pulse on community events and forming relationships with community leaders Communicate a compelling message that articulates information about the school, its offerings and the application process Persuade parents to take actions that lead to student enrollment Collect information from potential applicants and meet daily student recruitment lead generation goals Maintain accurate data and report on daily metrics Comply with school's goals, messaging, and safety protocols (including the use of PPE and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines) For Field Managers (Additional Duties):
Team Leadership :
Oversee a local team of canvassers, providing daily on-field coaching, motivation, and territory assignments.
Metrics Accountability :
Monitor daily lead generation data and ensure the team meets its collective regional recruitment goals.
Quality Control :
Audit data entries and ensure message consistency and strict compliance with safety guidelines across the zone.

Position Logistics Job Type :
Part-time, W-2 Contract (1 Month)
Location :
Nashville, Tennessee (In-person, outdoor field environment)
Schedule :
15-20 hours per week (3-4 days/week, 5 hours/day).
Shift Times :
1:00 PM - 6:00 PM on weekdays; 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM on weekends.

Some hours may vary due to school-requested events.
