Salesperson / Cruising Sail Consultant Company Overview North Sails is a global leader in sailmaking technology, renowned for its innovative high-performance sails and cutting-edge composite construction processes. Our team works with everyone from local club racers and cruisers to grand prix racing programs around the world. We are passionate about sailing, innovation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Job Overview North Sails is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven salesperson with deep sailing and sailboat knowledge to join our U.S. sales team. We are looking for someone who understands sailboats, enjoys working directly with owners and sailors, and can build long-term customer relationships within the sailing community. While prior sail-selling experience is not required, candidates should have extensive hands-on sailing knowledge and some background in sales, customer service, or client relationship management. Duties Work directly with sailboat owners, racers, cruisers, captains, and programs to recommend the right products and solutions Build and maintain long-term customer relationships Generate sales opportunities through networking, yacht clubs, regattas, referrals, and industry connections Guide customers through the quoting and ordering process Coordinate measurements, specifications, delivery timelines, and customer communication Follow up on leads, quotes, and existing customer accounts Help customers understand the performance and value of North Sails products Work closely with production, service, and marketing teams Maintain accurate sales activity and customer records within company systems Represent North Sails professionally at events, regattas, and within the local sailing community Required Strong knowledge of sailboats, rigging, and sailing fundamentals Real-world sailing experience (racing, cruising, crewing, coaching, boat ownership, marine industry, etc.) Strong communication and relationship-building skills Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable using computers and business software systems Valid driver's license and able to drive through North Sails' insurance Able to travel locally for customer visits and events Legal authorization to work in the United States Able to lift 35-50 lbs. occasionally Preferred Prior experience in sales, customer service, account management, or business development Experience in the marine industry Existing relationships within the sailing community Competitive sailing background Knowledge of sail design, rigging, or yacht systems North Sails is an Equal Opportunity Employer. $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
