Goal of the

Overall VISTA Project:

The project's primary objective is to revitalize several City of Hancock-owned buildings to enable active occupancy. This involves a multi-faceted approach focusing on cleaning, energy efficiency, community engagement, and workforce development. Key Objectives Building Revitalization Clean and restore buildings to prepare them for active use; analyze potential improvements for energy efficiency; explore renewable energy options for electricity and heating. Community Outreach Conduct outreach through in-person events and social media to assess community needs; gather insights on potential small business opportunities to support entrepreneurship. Poverty Alleviation Initiatives Lay a foundation for alleviating poverty by fostering local business development; create a training workplace for unemployed individuals to acquire essential skills, enhancing employability.

SummaryThis approach aims not only to rehabilitate physical spaces but also to empower the community, stimulate economic growth, and provide essential training to improve residents' skills and opportunities. JOB DESCRIPTION

First Objective:

To gather and analyze community preferences and input.

Activities:

1. 1st

Week:

create a series of polls (5-7), work with City and NPT to refine questions. 2. 2nd

Week:

create graphics & create sign-up forms; 3. 3rd-7th

Week:

Post on City, NPT and other social media and attend community events for live polling. 4. 8th - 10th

Week:

Aggregate data at the end of project, create spreadsheets with graphics

Second Objective:

Work on Site Improvements.

Activities:

1. Clean facility for future occupants. 2. Analyze current and future energy use. 3. Make list of energy improvements prioritized by need and amount of energy savings to implement.

Third Objective:

Marketing Site Spaces Activities:

1. Analyse entrepreneurial space needs (qualitative and quantitative) 2. Create a brochure to market space. 3. Market new spaces. Must be at least 18 Years of age
