In this role, you'll serve as a trusted guide connecting residents, property owners, and community partners to energy efficiency and clean energy programs. You'll drive participation through grassroots outreach, relationship building, and hands-on customer support from initial awareness through project completion, helping expand access to cleaner, healthier, and more affordable homes across Western New York. What You'll Do Conduct direct, 1:1 grassroots outreach including door knocking, cold calling, tabling, and community event participation to encourage participation in NYSERDA or Hub programs Deliver presentations and facilitate workshops to increase energy literacy and program awareness Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, institutions, and government partners Execute local outreach campaigns (flyers, mailings, events, peer-to-peer engagement) Drive participation through referrals, social networks, and community-based marketing strategies Pre-screen and pre-qualify participants for program eligibility, including financing pathways. Support customers through the full lifecycle—from initial interest to project completion—and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the process. Recruit and enroll customers, with a focus on low- to moderate-income communities across Western New York. Maintain accurate customer records and track progress through program stages. Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to support project execution and ensure a high-quality customer experience. Collaborate with outreach partners to co-host events and expand program reach. Track progress toward outreach, enrollment, and project completion goals while maintaining compliance with NYSERDA and other funding requirements. Who We're Looking For High School Diploma, equivalency, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2)+ years of experience in community outreach, sales, customer engagement, or a related field required; excellent customer service skills required. Prior service-related experience working with under-resourced and marginalized low-income communities helpful. Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities. Demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities, build trust, and work comfortably in the field, including door knocking and cold outreach. Experience managing multiple tasks, follow-ups, and customer pipelines with strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Proficiency with technology; experience with Salesforce CRM, Asana, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite highly preferred. Previous direct experience in energy retrofit sales and marketing, installation work, or consulting with energy retrofit industry partners highly preferred. Building Performance Institute certification highly preferred. Valid driver's license and access to reliable private transportation required; travel across the five-county Western New York region required. Willingness to work evening and weekend hours as necessary Multilingual proficiency is a plus.
Pay:
$22.30 - $23.50 per hour
