You will perform blower door and duct leakage testing, coordinate
HERS/ERI
ratings, HVAC design validations, and inspections of building envelopes and insulation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, performing various tests and inspections, generating and reviewing reports, ensuring compliance with energy codes, and providing clear guidance to clients. This is a full time in the field focused position, primarily aimed at Southern Denver and the surrounding areas in CO. What You'll Do Perform diagnostic testing (blower door, duct leakage, IR scans, TAB, etc.). Conduct evaluations on building systems across residential and light commercial sites. Navigate and interpret various energy codes (e.g., 2022 Denver Energy Code, 2024 Boulder Energy Code, IECC, IEBC). Review architectural drawings and construction plans. Perform basic data analysis and clearly document field observations. Enter and manage data using energy modeling and documentation software. Communicate with clients and team members to ensure timely, accurate service delivery. Perform physical tasks like lifting equipment (20-50 lbs+) and accessing attics, crawlspaces, and other tight spaces. What We're Looking For Detail oriented and eager to learn. Strong communication and client-facing skills. Comfortable on construction sites. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. No experience required, however construction, HVAC, energy modeling, code compliance, or engineering experience is a bonus. Ability to speak Spanish well is a bonus, but not required. Training & Certification Timeline Company paid RFI certification training within the first 1-3 months. Field mentoring and hands-on development throughout the first year. Long-term opportunities in advanced testing, modeling, and consulting. Work Style This is a hybrid role with a mix of on the road field work and remote documentation/report writing. You'll regularly drive to various job sites across the state of Colorado to conduct tests and inspections. After fieldwork, you'll typically return to your home office (or ours) to write up test results and compliance reports.
