This position requires an individual who can independently perform residential energy plan analysis/modeling, create energy permit documentation & perform field inspections & testing and assist with code compliance solutions. We are looking for a self-motivated professional who enjoys both office and field work, has strong technical knowledge of energy code compliance, and can communicate effectively with professionals. Position Summary The Energy Compliance Specialist will be responsible for reviewing residential construction plans, creating permit-ready energy compliance documents, performing energy modeling, conducting field inspections, and helping builders achieve compliance with current IECC requirements and local municipality energy code's adopted. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Energy Modeling & Plan Review Review residential construction plans for compliance with current IECC requirements and local amendments Create permit-ready energy compliance documentation Generate and review REScheck reports Generate and review COMcheck reports Perform residential energy modeling using IC3 and Ekotrope software Analyze building envelope, insulation, fenestration, HVAC, and duct system specifications Interpret complex energy codes and communicate requirements clearly to builders, contractors, architects, and homeowners Assist clients with compliance strategies and code-related questions Maintain accurate project documentation and compliance records Field Inspections & Testing Perform residential energy inspections Conduct insulation inspections Perform blower door testing Perform duct leakage testing Verify field compliance & projected specifications are met Document inspection findings and prepare reports Communicate inspection results and corrective actions to clients Troubleshoot & resolve field-related issues Required Qualifications ICC Residential Energy Inspector / Plans Examiner Certification (Required) Experience performing residential energy inspections Experience reviewing residential construction plans Experience creating energy permit documentation Working knowledge of current IECC energy code requirements Experience using Energy Software REScheck, ComCheck, IC3 & Ekotrope Strong understanding of residential construction practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid driver's license is required and reliable transportation that can accommodate testing equipment and ladder. Candidate must be comfortable performing multiple inspections per day High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to prove proof of previous employment past 7 years through background check Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle report Preferred Qualifications
