Job Description

A well-established labor organization in Washington, DC is seeking a Membership Representative to support its Membership Department. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service and administrative skills who enjoys helping people and serving as a primary point of contact for members. This is a temporary position with the potential for extension based on departmental needs and performance. Candidates who demonstrate strong customer service skills and reliability may have the opportunity to remain with the organization for an extended period. Position Overview The Membership Assistant will assist members with billing and membership-related questions, answer incoming calls, maintain accurate records, and provide general administrative support to the Membership Department. Responsibilities of the
Membership Representative:
Answer incoming phone calls from members and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner Assist members with billing, dues, and membership-related questions Research and resolve member issues or direct inquiries to the appropriate department Update and maintain member records and account information Process membership-related forms and documentation Respond to email inquiries and provide follow-up as needed Perform general administrative and clerical duties Support the Membership Department with special projects and other tasks as assigned Qualifications of the
Membership Representative:
Previous customer service, call center, administrative, or membership support experience preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills Ability to manage a high volume of phone calls and inquiries Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Schedule & Location Monday - Friday 35 hours per week 8-hour workday with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break 100% in-office position
Washington, DC Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
