Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Zoo Miami Foundation's Membership Ambassador (FPA) is responsible for effectively promoting the Zoo Miami Foundation brand while handling the sales transactions of the organization's various revenue-generating programs and membership packages. The FPA will drive and promote the Foundation's various revenue-generating programs such as membership, adopt an animal, bricks, and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively promote and sell the Zoo Miami Foundation's various revenue-generating programs and membership packages, including membership, adopt an animal, bricks, and more. Convey to all potential members and donors all assigned fundraising programs in accordance with company policies and practices. Participate in marketing and outreach events to promote the Zoo Miami Foundation brand and membership programs. Provide excellent customer service to members and potential members, greeting and interacting with guests in a positive demeanor. Maintain the membership sales area clean and welcoming, ensuring all sales materials are stocked and up to date. Handle all on-site sales of ZMF Membership Passes and other fundraising items to visitors on a daily basis. Will also help fulfill all program fulfillment. Accurately input data into membership programs/software, maintaining membership records and ensuring timely renewal reminders are sent to members. Handle all aspects of cash register operations including opening and closing procedures, correctly ringing up individual membership sales, and accepting permissible forms of payment. Complete deposits and daily reconciliation reports for submittal to Finance. Ensure members are complying with the rules and policies of their membership agreement. Assist with any customer service issues as well as be familiar with zoo emergency policies and procedures. Develop and maintain knowledge of Zoo Miami including schedules, areas of the zoo, events, and exhibits. Resolve member concerns in a courteous and timely manner and escalate issues when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or a college degree preferred. Previous sales experience preferred; experience in membership sales, fundraising, or a related field is a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and professional attitude. Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately input data into membership software. Ability to handle cash register operations and basic math skills required. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Application Question(s): Are you at least 18 years of age?
